Oxford Healthspan has also added a special type of maltodextrin that is acting as a prebiotic fiber and resistant starch that will selectively feed the fuso- and bacterioides bacteria in the gut biome, both of which produce spermidine. The idea behind it is to increase both supplemental, exogenous spermidine as well as your own body's ability to produce endogenous spermidine.
Ingredients:
- Concentrated wheat germ extract containing 1mg of supplemental, exogenous spermidine. Defatted to prevent the oils in wheat germ from going rancid.
- Maltodextrin (FOS/prebiotic): acts as a prebiotic fiber and resistant starch that will selectively feed the fuso- and bacterioides bacteria in your gut biome, both of which produce spermidine. This is to support your gut biome's own ability to produce its own spermidine.
- Hypromellose (plant cellulose capsule). Vegan.
Usage: It is best to build up to a full, 3 capsule dosage over 3 consecutive days. Take 1 capsule with liquid at mealtime on Day 1, 2 capsules with liquid at mealtime on Day 2 and 3 capsules with liquid at mealtime on Day 3. If you experience discomfort at any time, reduce your dosage by 1 capsule until you reach tolerance and slowly build up to the 3 capsule daily dosage.
You can also open the capsules and mix the contents with a cold or room temperature drink or smoothie.
Contradictions: The spermidine supplement contains concentrated wheat germ and is not suitable for individuals with Celiac disease or wheat allergy. It may not be suitable for individuals diagnosed with SIBO. Please consult your healthcare practitioner.
