GlycanAge is a science-backed biological age test designed to give you a precise insight into your health and aging process. Unlike conventional tests that measure chronological age or rely on general markers, GlycanAge assesses your biological age by analyzing IgG glycans—complex sugars attached to your immune system's antibodies. These glycans play a key role in inflammation and aging, making GlycanAge a powerful predictor of overall wellness and disease risk.

    How It Works

    • Simple Blood Sample: Collect a quick, virtually painless blood sample from the comfort of your home or office.
    • Advanced Analysis: The sample is analyzed in a world-class laboratory using high-throughput liquid chromatography to examine 27 glycan structures linked to IgG.
    • Accurate Results: After about 4 weeks, receive your detailed report, showing how your biological age compares to your chronological age.
    • Maximize benefits: We strongly advise to book a consultation with us (not included in the price), when you receive the results.

    Included in the test

    • Finger-Prick Blood Test Kit: The kit enables you to collect a small blood sample at home.
    • Glycan Analysis: The test measures the glycans attached to your immunoglobulin G (IgG) to determine your biological age and assess inflammation levels.
    • Personalized Results: See how you compare to others people of same age. Personal dashboard to view results track progress. Results breakdown of your key glycan indexes. Sample report.

    Frequently asked questions

What does the GlycanAge test measure?

GlycanAge is the most accurate test of biological age and wellness available and the first one with proven responsiveness to interventions, paired with follow-on health programmes. The glycan (glycome) testing solution is based on decades of research, over a hundred peer-reviewed scientific papers and tested on 200,000 people (scientific trials & commercial). You can use GlycanAge to measure & optimise the success and effectiveness of your diet, training, and supplements intervention.

GlycanAge lab analyses 29 glycans (which represent over 99% of the glycan structures on IgG). Using these 29 structures, they determine 6 key features of the IgG glycome: Glycan Youth, Glycan Shield, Glycan Mature, Glycan Median, Glycan Lifestyle, and the GlycanAge index.

    How often should I test?

How often you test can be determined by many things and is a personal choice, but it is good to keep in mind that the test can be used as a tool for measuring optimising the success and effectiveness of your diet, training, and supplements interventions.

Testing two or more times a year will allow you to observe closely any changes in your immune system and give you the option to optimise your weight loss or dietary improvement journey, fitness regimen, sleep, mental health work or hormone therapy.

How long does it take to receive my results?

It will take 3-5 weeks for your results to be ready. It takes this long because GlycanAge lab runs multiple tests on your sample to ensure the most accurate measure of biological age available.

How is GlycanAge different to other biological age tests?

GlycanAge is unique amongst ageing clocks. Unlike other clocks, it integrates genetic, epigenetic and environmental aspects of ageing AND responds to lifestyle interventions. Epigenetic clocks for example don’t respond to caloric restriction or weight loss. GlycanAge does. Our studies demonstrate that lifestyle interventions known to be beneficial for health and ageing, measurably reverse glycan ageing. This makes it an ideal measure for the assessment of longevity interventions.

Telomere shortening for example is the DNA timer that limits the lifespan of a single cell. On an individual cell level, telomeres are an excellent marker of ageing. But, we are all composed of trillions of cells, each of them with a different age and expected lifespan. A large study recently concluded that Telomeres are not a good predictor of age-related health status. Many epigenetic clocks of ageing have recently come to market - all based on Steve Horvath's discovery that some aspects of DNA methylation correlate strongly with chronological age.

Epigenetics is a form of cellular memory, a field which has significant biomarker potential. There is little research demonstrating what these epigenetic clocks are actually measuring though. The Horvath clock, with which they correlate, is also too linked to chronological age to be useful. GlycanAge measures composition of the IgG glycome (glycans attached to IgG). The IgG glycome not only changes with age, but also affects inflammation at many levels. Glycans are not only biomarkers, but also functional effectors of ageing. Many studies show accelerated glycan ageing is associated with both unhealthy lifestyle and diseases. In some cases glycans were also shown to be causal for disease development
