Resveratrol is a polyphenol that protects plants against fungi. It is present in the skins of grapes and therefore also in red wine. Resveratrol has antioxidant properties and a beneficial effect on the heart and blood vessels. However, the amount of resveratrol in red wine is too low to provide these benefits at moderate intakes.
Life Extension combines a high dosage of resveratrol (250 mg per capsule) with a mix of polyphenols, such as quercetin and fisetin. These polyphenols support the function of resveratrol and provide their own benefits. Optimized Resveratrol is suitable for vegetarians and GMO-free.
