How long is the battery life on Acetrack?
The battery life depends on the frequency of use. If the device is charged for 45 minutes once a week, the battery will never run out of.
My Acetrack does not have a green light, or a light at all. What could be wrong?
Your device probably needs charging. Insert the attached micro-USB cable into the device in one end and a mobile phone USB transformer in the other end. Connect to your local electricity outlet. Let charging continue for a minimum of one hour.
How should I exhale in Acetrack to get successful measurements?
Exhale as steadily as possible with even pressure for approximately five seconds. The pressure level is visually shown in the app while exhaling.
What does the ppm value mean?
The measured value is the fraction in ppm (parts per million) of acetone in your exhalation. This is an individual value corresponding to your level of ketosis. High levels of acetone mean that you are in ketosis and low levels mean that you are not.
Why does Acetrack show a yellow light when it is turned on?
The yellow light means that the acetone sensor inside Acetrack is warming up. This can take 3-5 minutes. When Acetrack shows a green light, it is ready for use.
Why is Acetrack flashing a yellow light after the breathing test?
The flashing yellow light indicates that the sensor is resetting (scrubbing) from the previous exhalation.
What does scrubbing mean?
Scrubbing means that the sensor is resetting from the previous exhalation. This is shown through the flashing yellow light on the device.
Is the measured value affected by what you had in your mouth recently?
Yes, the device reacts to lingering mouth gases. This means that if you consume anything and then immediately perform a test, you will receive higher measured values.
When is it best to measure ketosis?
Ideal for measuring ketones are in the morning before you have put anything in your mouth, directly after exercise or a couple of hours after any meal or snack.
Does menthol affect measured values?
Yes, anything with menthol will affect the measured value. For example: mouth wash, chewing gum, tooth paste and cough drops.
Does alcohol affect measured values?
Yes, alcohol in your exhaled breath interferes with the acetone sensor in Acetrack meaning that the measured values are void.
Does milk affect measured values?
Yes, dairy products generate methane gases in your exhaled breath. This interferes with the acetone sensor in Acetrack meaning that the measured values are void.
